Chris Chiozza Makes It Official By Committing To Florida Gators

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

As expected, Chris Chiozza will be joining the Florida Gators in the 2014-15 college basketball season, according to NBCSports.com. Chiozza is the first recruit to commit to the team out of the 2014 recruiting class.

Chiozza may not be Andrew Wiggins, but his decision to join the team still means a lot to Florida. In case if you have not heard about Wiggins’ decision today or don’t have any clue what I am talking about, maybe you should Google it, read a book or  something. It was kind of big news.

Chiozza stands at 5’11” and he is a 3-star, according to ESPN.

Florida’s future is looking bright, with players already joining the team who won’t even enter college ball for another year. However, the Gators have been one of the best teams in college basketball for the last few years or so. They did win back-to-back national titles not too long ago and have made it to the Elite Eight three years in a row. Anything short of another Elite Eight appearance in the upcoming season would be a disappointment in Gainesville.

Billy Donovan has done work on and off the court for this program and it is no wonder why he is becoming one of the better coaches in college hoops. Heck, for the present, I would put his name up there with the best of them.

Chiozza is a great recruit that will join the team in a year. As a result, Florida fans should feel pretty good about the Gators–not like they needed another reason or anything like that.
