St. John's Red Storm To Open Up 2013-14 College Hoops Season Against Big Ten Team

The St. John’s Red Storm may have disappointed this past season, but expectations seem to still be high, considering that they will open up the 2013-14 college basketball season against the Wisconsin Badgers, according to ESPN.

The Red Storm finished this past season with an overall record of 17-16. Not to mention, they finished with a Big East record of 8-10, which did not quite meet expectations.

There will be some key pieces coming back to the team and the recruiting class is not looking bad at all, so head coach Steve Lavin seems to be set to have his best season yet at St. John’s. Expectations will likely finally be met or that is at least what Lavin lovers and fans of St. John’s are hoping for.

The Red Storm did not play a Big Ten opponent last season and it will be interesting to see how they matchup against the Badgers, who seem to always be a very good defensive team. I am going to take a wild guess and say that the upcoming season will be no different for Wisconsin.

St. John’s did not dance this year, but it will have a chance to make some noise right off the bat if it can beat Wisconsin. This will be a pretty big game for both teams to start off the season and in no way is it a tuneup match for either one.

The college basketball season may be months away, but it is already looking that much better with this matchup taking place to tip off the season.
