Akron Zips' Zeke Marshall Should Make An NBA Team

Akron Zips’ Zeke Marshall will likely not get drafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, but he should still should make an NBA team.

With that said, it would be great if Marshall’s name was called late in the second round. He might not even be ranked as high as the 10th best center in the draft, but he is still a great player that could surprise a lot of people at the next level.

In his senior season, Marshall scored 13 points per game, seven rebounds per game and blocked 3.7 shots per game. Not bad for a player that is really not getting any attention for the draft.

Marshall is a shot-blocking monster and his 7’0” height has a lot to do with that. That is also a big reason why he will make a pro team. NBA teams seem to love seven-footers, even the ones who look like they have never touched a basketball in their life. Luckily for Marshall, this is definitely not the case for him. He is a great player and making 65.1 percent of his shots prove this.

Marshall was part of a Zips team that made the 2013 NCAA Tournament as a No. 12 seed. Akron rarely makes the dance and this year it managed to earn a decent seed for a team out of the Mid-American Conference.

Although Marshall does not look like he will get drafted–at least according to a bunch of mock drafts floating around the internet–you better believe that he is good enough to make an NBA team.
