Watch Out For Saint Louis Billikens’ Dwayne Evans In the 2013-14 College Basketball Season

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

The Saint Louis Billikens had a great year in the 2012-13 college basketball season, winning the Atlantic 10 regular season title and conference tournament, along with earning a No. 4 seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. This was a very good basketball team, but it was Dwayne Evans who led the team in scoring. With him returning for the 2013-14 college basketball season, watch out for this senior.

Evans put up 14 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game. He managed to become a much more efficient shooter this past season, increasing his percentage from the field from 46 to 54.7 in just one season

Evans should get more looks, since a couple of great players will no longer be on the team. If this is the case, he will easily put up more points, since he tends to make more than half of his shots. It also helps that he is a rebounding machine at just 6’5”.

Who knows how good the Billikens will be, but it will be very hard for them to match their 28 wins that they had this season. Still, Evans could be one of the better players in the country in his final year in college basketball and he could put up some serious numbers in the scoring department.

However, other players on the team will have to step up as well if Saint Louis plans on being a great basketball team once again. This team is still good enough to enter the season with a top 25 ranking and Evans has a lot to do with that. Him and the rest of the Billikens could be dangerous once again.
