Wake Forest finished conference play with a 6-12 record, which was good enough for third to last place in the ACC.
The Demon Deacons leading scorer will no longer be on the team and some great teams will be joining the conference. Although a lot of talent will be returning, when Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse join your conference, it never gets any easier. Not to mention, North Carolina and Duke will likely be top 10 teams all season long and Virginia has a good enough team to make some noise.
Although a 6-12 record is nothing to be proud of, it is more wins than what Wake Forest has finished with in the previous two seasons in conference play.
The Demon Deacons will not enter the season as the worst team in the ACC, but they will not be much better and will still be ranked towards the bottom of the conference. With that said, this team did manage to beat North Carolina State and Miami last season when both teams were ranked. Both of those teams will be losing plenty of talent, so beating either one is very possible in the upcoming season.
It does not help that C.J. Harris will be gone, but maybe some of the returning players can have a bigger impact and help the Demon Deacons get more than six wins in the conference. Whether the case, it will not be easy for this team in the ACC in the 2013-14 season.
