The Colorado Buffaloes will be losing one of their best players in Andre Roberson to the 2013 NBA Draft, but plenty of talent will still be returning for the 2013-14 college basketball season. However, let’s take a look at the incoming freshmen.
Four players will be joining the team, including one 4-star and two 3-stars, according to ESPN. It is Tre’Shaun Fletcher, though, that highlights this class. Fletcher is ranked in the top 100 for the 2013 class, according to ESPN.
This team will already have some great players, so it is hard seeing any of the freshmen making that big of an impact. However, who knows how these players will be thrown into the lineup or if they will even see minutes.
Although the 2012 class had more players coming in, that does not mean Colorado’s future is in jeopardy or anything like that. This team has made the NCAA tournament the past two seasons. Speaking of which, the Buffaloes received a No. 10 seed in this year’s dance, despite only finishing three games back in the Pac-12 standings. However, the Buffs did lose their first game of the dance, so maybe a No. 10 seed was the correct seeding.
Roberson will be hard to replace on the defensive side of the ball, but this is still a team that can compete for a conference title in the upcoming season, despite the fact that Arizona will likely enter the year by being ranked in the top 10. It will be interesting to see what role Colorado’s freshmen will play on the team, but we will find that out once the season actually starts.
