The Saint Louis Billikens are coming off of a great season, where they won the Atlantic 10 regular season title and conference tournament. However, that will likely not be the case in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Sure, the Billikens should still be a good team and could easily find themselves in the top 25 once again, but it is the VCU Rams who will likely win the conference.

The Rams have so much talent coming back and this Shaka Smart team could possibly be the best one in school history. That is saying a lot, since this team is coming off of a 27-win season.

Luckily for Saint Louis, though, Dwayne Evans will be back. Evans averaged 14 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game in his junior season. He very well could be one of the best players in the conference once again in the upcoming season and one of the best players in college hoops.

This team will be retuning a bunch of talent, so a second consecutive conference title is not out of the question, but until Saint Louis proves that it can beat VCU in the upcoming season, the Rams will be the favorites to win the A 10, as they should be.

That is not taking anything away from Saint Louis, though, because it will have a great basketball team, just not as great as VCU’s.

Although the Atlantic 10 will be losing some teams, this conference will still have some teams that will be good enough to make the NCAA tournament and it should be yet another great season in conference play.
