Syracuse Orange Could Win ACC Title In First Season

Syracuse Orange

The Syracuse Orange are coming off of a season where they made the Final Four in the NCAA tournament. Although they will be losing some talent for the 2013-14 college basketball season, the Orange will still have enough players returning to win the ACC in their very first season in the conference.

Losing Michael Carter-Williams is huge, but luckily leading scorer C.J. Fair will be back. Fair could explode in the upcoming season, as he will be the clear go-to guy and will be playing in his final year in college hoops. In his junior year, Fair put up 14.5 points per game and seven rebounds per game.

Fair is not the only player returning and luckily, there will be plenty of great players joining the team.

However, the Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heels will likely have top 10 teams and could very easily challenge for a national championship. Those two teams will be by far Syracuse’s toughest opponents in the conference. Still, teams like Notre Dame, Virginia and Pittsburgh cannot be left out of the discussion for competing in the ACC.

Who knows if the Orange will be able to make another Final Four in the upcoming season, but they will still be ranked in the top 25 entering the season and will have a good enough team to win an ACC title. Whether that will be the case or not is yet to be seen, but big things should be expected out of Syracuse in the 2013-14 college hoops season–as usual.
