The Seton Hall Pirates where no where near the top of the standings of the Big East Conference this past season, but they will still be part of a pretty good field in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

The other three teams joining the Pirates will be the Michigan State Spartans, Oklahoma Sooners and the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The Spartans will easily be the favorite team going in, since they will likely enter the season with a top five ranking. The Sooners seem to be the only team that could challenge Michigan State, but you never know.

The Pirates are coming off of a season where they finished with an overall record of 15-18 and a Big East record of 3-15. It doesn’t seem like this team will be much better in the upcoming season. However, any win in this classic would be pretty big for Seton Hall.

However, at the end of the tournament, it will more than likely be Oklahoma playing Michigan State for the championship. The season is very far away, though, and so much can happen now and until the season actually starts.

Still, Seton Hall will not enter the 2013-14 season with very high expectations. Beating Michigan State would be huge, but not all miracles happen, especially when the Pirates will be completely outmatched in that contest. Seton Hall should still feel honored to play in such a great tournament, as I am sure it does.

The season may seem a long time from now, but there is so much to look forward to, like the 2013 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
