How Do the Virginia Cavaliers Match Up With the Rest of the ACC?
With Syracuse joining the ACC and North Carolina and Duke set to have top 10 teams, many people are probably not talking about the Virginia Cavaliers for the 2013-14 college basketball season. Regardless, let’s take a look at how they match up with the rest of the ACC.
Virginia is returning plenty of talent, including its leading scorer from last year, Joe Harris.
Sure, Big East teams joining is pretty exciting for this conference, but what about the teams that have been part of this conference for awhile? The Cavaliers could easily finish in the top five of the standings and possibly the top four, if teams take them too lightly.
With that said, the ACC is set to be very competitive and one of the best conferences in college hoops in the upcoming season. If Virginia meets expectations, it will compete in the conference and earn a bid to the NCAA tournament. The Cavaliers may be bringing back some talent, but it will likely not be enough to beat the top dogs in the standings when the season is over.
With that said, this team did manage to beat Duke last season, among other big names in the conference. It will be interesting to see what the ACC becomes next season, but no one can forget about Virginia, who is set to have a great season.
