It Will Be Interesting To See If Pittsburgh Panthers Can Compete In ACC Next Season

Pittsburgh Panthers

The Pittsburgh Panthers may have only earned a No. 8 seed in last year’s NCAA tournament, but they still managed to finish just two games back in one of the best conferences in college basketball. That is if you consider the Big East as one of the best conferences in college hoops–I sure hope so. The Panthers will be losing a lot of talent and it will be interesting to see if they can compete in the ACC in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Steven Adams and Tray Woodall no longer being part of the team really hurts, but Pittsburgh lost some other players as well. Still, Lamar Patterson and Talib Zanna will be back. They were second and third on the team when it came to scoring.

Although these two players leading the team would be great, other players will have to step up and having a great field general is always nice.

The ACC is going to be stacked with great teams, which includes Duke and North Carolina–of course. However, Syracuse and Notre Dame will also have the talent to compete for a conference title.

Pittsburgh is losing way too much talent to win a conference title, but you never know with college hoops. This team should still be able to pull off some upsets every now and then and counting them out of the 2014 NCAA Tournament wouldn’t be the smartest thing in the world. Still, it will be very interesting to see if Pittsburgh can compete in its new conference.
