Akron Zip’s Zeke Marshall did not have the best chance in the world to get picked up in the 2013 NBA Draft, but there was still a slim chance. Well, he was not drafted, so now what?

Marshall definitely has the talent to play for a team in the NBA and I would expect that to be the case. A team would be crazy not to want him at the next level.

He is coming off of a season where he put up 13 points per game and seven rebounds per game. He stands at 7’0” and could be a great defender for any team in search of a center.

Akron is not the best team in college basketball and the same can be said about the Mid-American Conference, but talent is talent and that is exactly what Marshall has. He may not score 15 points per night, but he will be reliable on the defensive side of the ball and he will grab boards.

Sure, picking up Dwight Howard is one of the hot topics this summer, but only one team can land Howard. The NBA draft did just happen, so many teams have already filled their void when it comes to the big guy in the paint. For those teams still in search of a center, though, Marshall would be a great player to take a chance on.

If all else fails, Marshall could play overseas. However, I clearly do not know what he is thinking right now or what his next move will be. For his sake, though, I hope an NBA team picks him up soon.
