With a lot of talent returning and the Atlantic 10 losing some teams, the La Salle Explorers will compete for a conference title once again in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

The Explorers will have to get over the fact that leading scorer Ramon Galloway is no longer on the team, but once they can do that–which I am sure they have already done–and realize that so much talent is coming back, they will be able to compete for a conference title.

With that said, Saint Louis and VCU are going to be the favorites to win the conference. Not to mention, both teams have a chance of being ranked in the top 25 once the season starts. Still, it is La Salle who made it to the Sweet 16 last year.

Galloway may be a huge loss, but just about every other key player will be back.

The Explorers finished two games back in the conference standings this past season. The teams that finished ahead of them were VCU and Saint Louis. However, they tied for third place with Butler and Temple. Luckily for La Salle, the Bulldogs and Owls will no longer be in the conference. This team managed to beat VCU last season, but could not pull off the victory against Saint Louis.

La Salle will have to find another go-to guy, but there will be plenty of players coming back who averaged more than 10 points per game. The talent is there. Now it is time for the Explorers to prove that they can compete for an A 10 title–when the season actually starts that is.
