Nik Stauskas could be the best player on the Michigan Wolverines in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Last year he was a freshman and he managed to be the third leading scorer on a talented Michigan team, averaging 11 points per game. His shot is what makes him so special, shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 44 percent from behind the arc.

Tim Hardaway Jr. leaving is definitely a big loss for the Wolverines, but Stauskas should have no problem leading this team in three-pointers. He did sink 80 threes last year, which was in fact the most on the team.

So while losing Trey Burke and Hardaway Jr. will hurt Michigan when it comes to shooting from behind the arc, Stauskas could very well get more looks, which would help in that department.

Michigan will be packed with great players once again and Mitch McGary will get a lot of hype entering the upcoming season, but Stauskas should be getting just as much buzz. He is a great player that will easily be one of the best three-point shooters in the conference once again. Not to mention, he has the talent to lead the team in scoring.

Other than one game in the Big Dance, Stauskas didn’t really show how good of a player he can be, but with a larger role on the team in the 2013-14 season, he could very well be one of the best players on the Michigan Wolverines, which is saying a lot considering that they will be good enough to compete for another Big Ten title.
