Maryland Terrapins Incoming Freshmen Could Emerge Early

Maryland Terrapins

The Maryland Terrapins missed out on the 2013 NCAA Tournament and with Alex Len leaving for the NBA, that very well could be the case in the 2013-14 college basketball season. However, the team’s incoming freshmen could emerge early, which would help their chances at dancing.

Joining the team will be a four-star and a three-star.

Point guard Roddy Peters is a very highly rated recruit, which I am sure helps his chances of seeing the basketball court.

Depending on what kind of offense the Terps go with, Peters could join up with Dez Wells and Nick Faust in the backcourt, which would be a very underrated, but solid backcourt.

There is always a chance that incoming freshmen Damonte Dodd gets some playing time as well, since Len was the center and will no longer be on the team. For what it’s worth, Dodd is only 6’9”.

However, it will be interesting to see how the freshmen are worked into the lineup–assuming they are worked into the lineup.

Maryland is by no means the best team in the ACC, but it does have a lot of talent. However, Wells will have to play big once again. He led the team in scoring this past season with 13.1 points per game.

This conference will without a doubt be one of the best ones in college basketball, which certainly does not help Maryland’s chances at dancing, but it could also be a good thing if it pulls off some big victories.

Whether the case, the incoming freshmen could emerge early.
