With Vander Blue leaving the Marquette Golden Eagles, the team will have to find a new go-to guy in the 2013-14 college basketball season. Who knows, that go-to guy could be one of the incoming freshmen, but whether the case, the freshmen need to have an impact.

Joining the team will be three four-stars, a three-star and a JUCO player, according to ESPN. However, it is JaJuan Johnson, Deonte Burton and Duane Wilson who could have an instant impact. All three of these players are four-stars and all three of them have the talent to start right away in college hoops.

Wilson could likely be the starting field general, but that does not mean that Johnson or Burton won’t be in the starting five.

Marquette will be a much different team without Blue, but it will still be a good one. Competing for a Big East title is definitely not out of the question for this team, especially since the Golden Eagles will be one of the favorites to win the conference.

For that to happen, though, these freshmen are going to have to come in and do work right off the bat. Who knows how any of them will be worked into the system, but you would imagine that some of them would get some serious playing time, especially the three mentioned above.

Blue may no longer be on the team, but Marquette will still have a lot to look forward to in the 2013-14 season, thanks to the incoming freshmen alone.
