Could the Iowa Hawkeyes Win the Big Ten?

Iowa Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes may not be the favorites to win the Big Ten in the 2013-14 college basketball season, but is it possible for this team to pull of that feat?

Considering that the Hawkeyes are coming off of a 25-win season, this is definitely a possibility. It helps that Iowa made it all the way to the championship game–in the NIT–this past season and will be returning basically the same exact lineup.

This team has not made the Big Dance in a few seasons, so just simply dancing would be a great feat, but the Hawkeyes have the team to make some serious noise.

It helps that teams like Indiana will be losing a bunch of talent. With that said, the Big Ten will have plenty of great teams and the conference will likely be just as competitive as it was this past season.

Still, it helps when a team is returning its leading scorer and plenty of other great players.

Iowa will definitely not be picked to win the conference, but it certainly has the team to finish in the top three. For that to happen, though, the Hawkeyes will have to win the big games. They could not do that this past season, which was a big reason why they did not dance.

Sure, many people will be excited about Michigan State, Ohio State and other big names in the Big Ten, but Iowa will be good enough to win the conference. Whether the case, it will have a great team entering the 2013-14 season.
