Where Will the Oklahoma State Cowboys Finish In the Big 12 In Upcoming Season?

Oklahoma State Cowboys

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

I have written many articles on the Oklahoma State Cowboys over the last few months–go me–but I have yet to predict where they will finish in the Big 12 in the 2013-14 college basketball season–well, kind of. So, where will they finish?

Can you say first place?

The Cowboys are the best team on paper in this conference and they are one of the best teams in the nation. Teams like Kansas will not be easy to fend off, but the Jayhawks will be playing with a bunch of unproven talent. Although that could likely change at season’s end, that is not the case right now and it will not be the case entering the new season.

Oklahoma State has three players returning that averaged 14 or more points per game last season. When does that ever happen in college hoops? Don’t actually answer, unless if it is to yourself. The point I am trying to make is the fact that this team has plenty of firepower and proven talent.

One or more teams will surprise us and Oklahoma State will definitely lose a game or two. That can be expected in a sport like college basketball.

Kansas State could and should have a down year and Baylor will be bringing back talent, but we said that last year as well. This is the Big 12 Conference, so there will be talent on every basketball team, but the Cowboys should be getting the most buzz and when the season comes to a close, it is the Cowboys that will be wearing the Big 12 crown. Well, not literally, but they will have a pretty sweet trophy to show for it.
