Do the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Have Any Chance In the ACC?

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons were not even close to being the best team in the ACC last season, but could that change in the 2013-14 college basketball season?

Well, I suppose every team has a chance until the fight actually begins, but there is a good chance that Wake Forest will be better next season.

It is coming off of a 13-18 record overall and a 6-12 record in the ACC. Although those records are nothing to brag about, they could be worse.

The biggest thing for this team in the upcoming season is that it will have to get over the fact that leading scorer C.J. Harris is no longer on the team. His 15.4 points per game will definitely be missed, but players come and go in college hoops on a yearly basis.

After Harris, basically the entire team will be back, so there is a chance that the Demon Deacons get better as a team, which could result in more ACC wins.

With that said, the ACC will be kind of a good conference next year. You know, since Duke and North Carolina will be top 10 teams and some Big East teams are joining. Syracuse is the biggest name joining the conference, though.

It would be really tough for this team to completely turn it around and make the NCAA tournament in the 2013-14 season, but stranger things have happened. Wake Forest could finish with more wins, though, but I highly doubt that it challenges for a conference title.
