Incoming Freshmen Could Ease North Carolina State Wolfpack’s Pain

North Carolina State Wolfpack

The North Carolina State Wolfpack are basically losing their entire team for the 2013-14 college basketball season. However, incoming freshmen could ease some of their pain.

Anthony Barber is the highest rated recruit joining the team and he could receive some big minutes in the upcoming season if he earns the starting point guard spot. Even if he doesn’t you would think that Barber would get a decent amount of playing time since he is a four-star and all.

Two other four-stars will be joining him, along with a three-star and a JUCO player. This is very good news for a team that has to start from scratch.

With that said, T.J. Warren will return to the team. He is the highest leading scorer returning, averaging 12.1 points per game last season as a freshman. Warren will be the most important player on this team, but the freshmen could have just as much of an impact since basketball is kind of a team sport.

After being picked to win the ACC just a season ago, North Carolina State will have to do some serious work just to finish in the top five of the conference standings. Surprise teams do happen in college hoops, and the incoming freshmen will need to emerge early if this team has any chance at making the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

It should be an interesting season for the Wolfpack to say the least, however, there are good enough players coming in to help set up North Carolina State for the future.
