Where Will the Iowa State Cyclones Finish In the Big 12?

Iowa State Cyclones

The Iowa State Cyclones will without a doubt be losing some talented players for the 2013-14 college basketball season. However, enough talent is returning for this team to make some noise. With that said, where will they finish in the Big 12?

This may be a little bold, but I am predicting Iowa State to finish in third place in the conference standings.

As good of a team that Baylor could have and as much as I want the Bears to succeed, I do not think they will beat Iowa State in the conference standings. Baylor was supposed to be a national title contending team this past season, but didn’t even dance.

There is no way that the Cyclones finish ahead of Oklahoma State or Kansas in the standings. Well, I guess there is a way, but it is not going to happen. Both of those teams are stacked with NBA talent and both will be good enough to challenge for a national title.

This is still going to be a very good Iowa State team and it will certainly be good enough to beat the top dogs in the conference, but it will not best either one in a full slate of conference play.

The Big 12 will be an interesting conference to watch in the upcoming season for so many reasons. People–including myself–are already saying that the conference will have a down year, but I am starting to disagree with that one. There is still so much talent in the Big 12 and one of those talents is Iowa State, who will have a very good chance at finishing in the top three of the Big 12 standings.
