The 2014 NBA Draft is so far away, but it is still always fun to predict where college basketball stars will go in the upcoming draft. So, where will Oklahoma State CowboysMarcus Smart land?

Straight up, I think Smart will go in the top 10 of the draft, but he has the skill set to go in the top five.

Smart has the talent to be the best guard in the entire nation. That is saying a lot considering all of the great players joining the college ranks in the 2013-14 season. His talent simply cannot be denied, though.

He averaged 15.4 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game and 4.2 assists per game as a freshman. He really should have gone pro after one season, but at the same time, who am I to say what he should have done. Smart thought he should return for one more season, so he did.

There is a chance that he stays another year in school. That might be a small chance, but who knows. Plus, who cares. The season still has to be played, which will be filled with great moments in every month, not just March.

If Smart helps lead his team to a Big 12 title and a deep run in the tournament, there should be no doubt that he will be a top five pick in the draft. With that said, that still has to happen and there is so much talent that will be entering the draft. The 2014 NBA Draft is already being considered one of the best of all time–or deepest–and it hasn’t even happened yet.

Still, Smart should have an even better season than he did in his first year for the Cowboys and he will certainly draw a lot of attention from NBA scouts.
