Perris Blackwell Could Shine With the Washington Huskies

After sitting out a year, transfer Perris Blackwell will finally get to take the court in the 2013-14 college basketball season and he could shine for the Washington Huskies.

Blackwell played for a school that is definitely not a powerhouse in college hoops anymore–San Francisco. At the same time, the Dons have won two national championship in their history. It was a very long time ago, but not every program can say they have won a national title.

The last time Blackwell took the court, he put up 12.7 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game in just 25.6 minutes per game. He stands at 6’9” and the Huskies will gladly have him for the upcoming season now that he can actually play, thanks to that whole sitting out a year thing because of transferring.

Washington could really use all of the help it can get after finishing 9-9 in Pac-12 play and finishing with an overall record of 18-16. Luckily, C.J. Wilcox will be back, who led the team in scoring last season.

The Pac-12 will have some great teams at the top of the conference and unless if something crazy happens, the Huskies will not be one of them. With that said, a five-star recruit will be taking the court and he is expected to make an instant impact.

Whether the case, Blackwell is a great addition to the frontcourt and he has the skill set to succeed with Washington. However, until we actually see how he does once the season starts, he will be one of the many question marks on the Huskies.
