Josh Davis Needs To Have A Big Season For San Diego State Aztecs

The San Diego State Aztecs are losing some very talented players for the 2013-14 college basketball season. However, Tulane transfer Josh Davis will have to help make up for their losses by having a big year in the upcoming season.

Considering that Davis averaged 17.6 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game last season, that is very likely to happen.

The 6’8” forward will play a huge role and he is expected to have an instant impact. If he does not, San Diego State may be in trouble. Sure, there are other talented players on the team, but no other returning player put up the kind of numbers that Davis did last season.

It is not everyday that a program picks up a transfer quite like Davis, so the Aztecs should feel really lucky to have him.

With New Mexico being so stacked in the upcoming season and with San Diego State losing its two leading scorers, it will be interesting to see if the Aztecs can keep up with the Lobos.

New Mexico won the MWC last season, while San Diego State finished four games out of first place.

Although that can be considered disappointing by many, the team at least won 23 games on the year and made the NCAA tournament as a No. 7 seed. The Aztecs made it to the round of 32 before getting beat by a No. 15 seed.

San Diego State will have to win as a team in the upcoming season, but it is so important that Davis does work and has a similar impact to what he had at Tulane.
