Many people are raving about Memphis Tigers‘ backcourt for the 2013-14 college basketball season and rightfully so, but people need to watch out for the incoming freshmen forwards in the upcoming season.

Joining the team will be one five-star and three four-stars. That is just the forwards set to join the team. There will also be another four-star and a three-star joining (guards).

As you can see, Memphis is becoming a program that many talented players want to come play for. That was the case when John Calipari coached there and that is the case now with Josh Pastner.

The forward that everyone should really be getting excited about, though, is Austin Nichols. He stands at 6’8” and ESPN has him ranked as the No. 15 recruit for the 2013 class. Nichols is expected to have an instant impact for this team and he could help balance out the forwards and guards.

Once again, the guards are being talked about a lot, but with so many talented forwards joining the team, this is going to be a complete and stacked Memphis team.

After coming off of a season where the Tigers finished with 31 victories, the expectations for this team to succeed are as high as ever. However, this year they will have to do that in the all new AAC, which consists of the Louisville Cardinals, who did win the national championship this past season.

So although the competition for this program will be fierce in the 2013-14 season, Memphis will have some great incoming freshmen forwards that will help ease the pain.
