Who Will Be the Leading Scorer For the Florida Gators?

Patric Young

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida Gators will be losing their top three leading scorers for the 2013-14 college basketball season, so who will be the new leading scorer in the upcoming season?

There are so many players to choose from and their will be a lot of new faces joining the team. I, along with everyone else, has no clue how any of the incoming freshmen will be. Sure, the Gators will be gaining two five-stars who could have a huge impact right off the bat, but you never know until it actually happens.

As a result, I am not going to say whether or not if Kasey Hill or Chris Walker will lead the team in scoring. For the record, there are also a couple of great transfers joining the team.

However, I am going to go out on a slight whim here and say that Patric Young has his best season yet for Florida and leads the team in scoring. To some this may not seem that bold since Young averaged 10.1 points per game and is the highest returning scorer.

With that said, Florida is going to have great guard play like usual. At the same time, there is a chance that the Gators will have one of the best frontcourts in the nation. If that is in fact true, Young will have no problem being the new go-to guy.

Playing in his final year, Young deserves to be the go-to guy and he is a very talented player that has been overshadowed by Florida’s guard play over the years.

That could be different this year and it should not surprise anyone if Young averages the most points on the team.
