Xavier Musketeers Will Have Their Hands Full In First Game of Battle 4 Atantis
The Battle 4 Atlantis is a great tournament to help tip off the 2013-14 college basketball season or any season for that matter. One of the many great teams in the tourney will be the Xavier Musketeers. However, they will have a tough matchup in their first game when they take on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Musketeers return plenty of talent, have a good recruiting class coming in and they also have a transfer player who could make an instant impact. With that said, they should finish with a much better record than 17-14 in the upcoming season and they should compete in the Big East–first season in the conference.
As for Iowa, it will return basically its entire team from last season. The Hawkeyes may have not made the Big Dance, but they did make the championship game for the NIT. Iowa will be filled with talent and experience and both of those things could help it make the dance.
This will be a very fun matchup to watch to tip off the season.
If Xavier plans on winning, it has to beat Iowa and some other pretty good teams. Playing the Hawkeyes right off of the bat will prove to be tough, but the Musketeers can boost their confidence and get a big win by beating Iowa.
I expect that Xavier will have a much better season than it did this past season and they really should be a tournament team. However, it will have a tough opponent to start the Battle 4 Atlantis.
