Pittsburgh Panthers Get the Duke Blue Devils At Home

The Pittsburgh Panthers will be welcomed into the ACC with open arms. That is until they take the court and conference play begins. Luckily for the Panthers in the 2013-14 college basketball season, they will get to take the Duke Blue Devils on at home.

With that said, they will not play Duke on the road, which could be a good or bad thing. For one, Cameron is arguably the toughest environment to play in. On the other hand, Pitt doesn’t get the chance to upset a very good opponent on the road.

If I was Pittsburgh, though, I would much rather play Duke at home than on the road. The game will take place on Jan. 27 and it will be one of the biggest ones on the season for Pittsburgh. A win would be huge in so many different ways and a loss would show that it is not ready to compete with the big boys in the conference.

The Blue Devils are expected to be a top 10 team once again, while Pittsburgh could be good enough to sneak into the top 25 during the season.

Both teams made the NCAA tournament last season and both should make the Big Dance in the upcoming season. No matter how you look at it, this will be a great matchup between two of the tougher teams in the ACC.

Entering the season, Duke will be the favorite to win this game despite the fact that it will be playing on the road, but don’t count out Pittsburgh just yet because it will have plenty of talent, like always.
