Nemanja Djurisic Will Have Big Season For Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs will be losing a good part of their offense in the 2013-14 college basketball season thanks to just one player leaving the team. However, second leading scorer Nemanja Djurisic will be back and he will have a big season.

Just in case if you were wondering, the one player the Bulldogs will dearly miss is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. He averaged 18.5 points per game and was easily the best player on the team and usually the best player on the court when he played.

Djurisic may have not averaged 10+ points per game last season, but he still managed to score 7.9 points per game and he did grab 4.3 rebounds per game.

With more playing time, he could easily score in double-digits next season. He averaged just 24.4 minutes per game. He shot 39.5 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from behind the arc.

It helps that he stands at 6’8” and he could be one of the tougher players to guard in the conference if he works on that three-point shot some more–made 20 threes on the season.

The teams at the top of the SEC will be filled with talent. Unfortunately, Georgia is not going to be one of those teams. Sure, it has some good players just like any team, but losing your best player is never easy to rebound from and it’s not like the Bulldogs were amazing last season with him.

Georgia finished last season with a 15-17 record. However, if players like Djurisic step up, this could be a better Bulldogs team than we think they will be.
