Wake Forest Demon Deacons Need A New Chris Paul
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have struggled mightily over the last few seasons and it is apparent that they need a new Chris Paul.
Paul may have only played two seasons with the team, but Wake Forest made the NCAA tournament in both seasons. After his last season with the team (2005), the Demon Deacons did not make the dance until 2009. They also made the tourney in 2010.
When you think of Wake Forest, what do you think of? If you are like me, you think of Chris Paul. This school definitely needs a new face to its program.
Sure, this team has had some great players join ever since Paul left, but has anyone been as good as Paul? That may not be a fair question, but Wake Forest plays in the ACC. This is a conference known for having some of the best players in the country.
The Tim Duncan era was also a great time for Demon Deacons fans, but that was a long time ago.
Wake Forest needs a big time player or a bunch of very talented players to turn things around at this program. As it is, the Demon Deacons are not making a whole lot of progress and an NCAA tournament bid does not look like it will happen in the near future.
This is a team that only won 13 games last season and six games in the ACC–far from a tourney team or even competing for that matter.
Wake does bring back quite a bit of players in the upcoming season, but it will also be losing leading scorer C.J. Harris.
Whether the case, Wake Forest needs something big to happen to the program and getting a new Chris Paul–a player of his talent–is much needed.
