A Look At Louisville Cardinals’ Chane Behanan For Upcoming Season

The Louisville Cardinals will not have their full team back from this past season’s national championship team, but some very talented players will be back regardless. One of those players is Chane Behanan.

Behanan averaged 9.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game on the year. He shot 50.7 percent from the field and averaged 26.1 minutes per game.

However, he is very capable of better. For instance, he managed to score 30 points against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Feb. 9. He also came up pretty big in the national championship game, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. If he can be a double-double threat in the upcoming season Louisville very well could win a second straight title.

However, college basketball is a very tough sport to repeat in and the Cardinals will have to be on top of their game all season long.

Still, Behanan is a great returning player and a bigger role on the offensive side of the ball should be expected. With that said, he is huge on the boards and that will be very important to the team, especially since Gorgui Dieng is no longer on Louisville–led team in rebounds per game with 9.4.

The Cardinals will be playing in a new conference in the AAC and they should enter the season as the favorites to win the conference title. They also might enter the season as the team to beat and with a No. 1 ranking.

Whether the case, the expectations for Rick Pitino‘s team will be high once again in the 2013-14 season.
