What Happens If Ole Miss Rebels' Marshall Henderson Doesn't Play?

Marshall Henderson was suspended this summer. Who knows how long that suspension will last and if Henderson will take the court again, but what happens if Ole miss Rebels‘ Henderson does not play in the 2013-14 college basketball season?

If this is the case, all chances of competing for a conference title go out the window. Even with Henderson in the lineup, winning the SEC over Kentucky and Florida seem pretty slim.

Making the dance would also likely not happen.

However, players like Jarvis Summers and Ladarius White would likely have big seasons. Henderson was a 20-point per game type of player. Without his elite scoring in the lineup, other players would step up on the offensive side of the ball and Summers and White would benefit the most from that.

Ole Miss really needs Marshall on the team to be successful in the upcoming season. That is especially true since Murphy Holloway and others are no longer on the team.

It was great seeing the Rebels make the dance this past season by winning the SEC tournament, but that wouldn’t have happen if Henderson was not on the team.

The SEC is going to be better in the 2013-14 season, which means bad news for Ole Miss. It does not have the man power to be an elite team in the conference and that becomes even more true if Henderson doesn’t play.

Hopefully for the Rebels, Henderson’s suspension doesn’t last too long and he is able to get back on the court and just focus on basketball.
