Georgia Bulldogs' Incoming Recruiting Class Not Very Intriguing

The Georgia Bulldogs are not known for getting the best recruits in the nation, but they still get some good players every now and then. With that in mind, the incoming recruiting class for the 2013-14 college basketball season is not very intriguing.

Joining the team will be three two-stars and a JUCO player, according to ESPN. No offense to any of these players because they could have great careers for the Bulldogs, but none of them are screaming best player in the country or anything close to it.

That is not good news considering Georgia will be losing its best player in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope since he decided to join the big leagues after the 2012-13 season.

Caldwell-Pope was great for the Bulldogs this past year and his numbers told that story. He averaged 18.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Without him, Georgia loses a huge offensive threat and really does not have an answer for that.

Luckily, Georgia will be returning quite a bit of players. The Bulldogs were not horrible last season, they just weren’t an NCAA tournament team or an NIT team for that matter. They finished with an overall record of 15-17, but did finish with a 9-9 record in the SEC.

Who knows how this team will do in the upcoming season, but it would be hard to see them doing any better since they will be without Caldwell-Pope.

Hopefully the incoming freshmen can make a big impact regardless if they look intriguing on paper or not. That very well could be the case, but more than likely the JUCO player will play right away and the freshmen will be eased into the system. That is all speculation though.
