Michigan Wolverines: Tougher Matchup, Arizona Wildcats or Duke Blue Devils?

Michigan Wolverines

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Michigan Wolverines will have to earn their ranking and record in the upcoming season thanks to a brutal non-conference schedule. Not to mention they play in the Big Ten. However, the two toughest out-of-conference games will be against the Arizona Wildcats and Duke Blue Devils. Which matchup will be tougher?

Both Arizona and Duke will enter the season in the top 10 or at least they better. Both will challenge for a national championship and could win their respected conferences. Picking which team will be tougher is probably a matter of opinion, but let’s go with Duke in this situation.

Why you ask? Well, the Wolverines will have to play that game at Cameron Indoor and the Blue Devils are getting the No. 2 recruit in the nation in Jabari Parker. If Parker meets expectations, he will be good enough to lead Duke to an ACC title alone. The only thing is that he will not be alone.

Rasheed Sulaimon will be back for another season. He scored 11.6 points per game last season and was one of the best freshman in the nation. The Blue Devils will be staked. As usual.

However, the Wildcats will have a bunch of talented players as well, but that game will be played at home for Michigan, so it will have its fans on its side.

Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III are two notable players returning to the Wolverines, but they pretty much have a solid player at every position. With that said, Michigan will have to replace point guard Trey Burke–national Player of the Year.

No matter how you look at it, Arizona and Duke will be tough. Michigan will be tested this season for sure.
