Cincinnati Bearcats Should Have A Lot of Momentum Heading Into Tougher Part of Schedule

The Cincinnati Bearcats won’t have the toughest schedule in the world in the upcoming season, but they will go through a tough stretch in their non-conference schedule. With that said, they should have a lot of momentum heading into that tougher stretch.

The Bearcats could very easily start the season off by going 7-0. They will take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack in their second game of the season, but the Wolfpack are losing a bunch of talent to say the least.

Assuming that Cincy wins that game, it will not be challenged until it plays New Mexico on Dec. 7. However, it should be 7-0 going into that contest and would have a lot of momentum as a result.

The only problem is the fact that the Bearcats will play New Mexico, Xavier and Pittsburgh in back-to-back-to-back games. All three of those teams will have the talent to be ranked in the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Cincinnati needs to win at least one of those games. Winning two would be big and winning all three would probably have it ranked pretty high. Regardless, it should have some momentum entering the game against the Lobos, which could be the biggest challenge in Cincy’s non-conference schedule.

Once the Bearcats enter conference play it will not get any easier. The AAC has plenty of great teams in it. Not to mention, it will have the defending national champs–Louisville Cardinals.

The Bearcats’ schedule is set up for them to succeed in the upcoming season, but they will still be challenged to say the least.
