Oregon Ducks Will Be Challenged In First Game of the Season

The Oregon Ducks made the NCAA tournament last season, but they will be losing a lot of talent in the upcoming one. With that in mind, the Ducks will be challenged in their first game of the season.

Oregon will take on the Georgetown Hoyas in its first game of the 2013-14 college basketball season.

Georgetown made the dance as a No. 2 seed last year, but they will no longer have Otto Porter Jr. on the team and Greg Whittington will be out thanks to an injury. Still, the team returns enough talent to compete for a Big East title. Who knows if the Hoyas will be ranked to start the season, but it has the talent to do so at some point in the season.

Hopefully Mike Moser can have a big impact right off of the bat. Moser may have had a bad season last year, but he did average a double-double just two seasons ago. He is a big addition to the team and he very well could be the best player on Oregon.

The Ducks will also take on Ole Miss, Illinois and BYU in the 2013-14 season, so they will definitely be challenged, but their non-conference schedule could be a lot worse. The first game against the Hoyas could be the toughest one in the non-conference schedule, but it will give us a good idea on how Oregon will look in the upcoming season.

Oregon very well could crack the top 25 with a win against Georgetown. However, that will be easier said than done, which is the case with just about anything.
