A Look At the Wichita State Shockers’ Non-Conference Schedule
The Wichita State Shockers made it all of the way to the Final Four last season. So, let’s take a look at how the Shockers’ non-conference schedule will look in the 2013-14 college basketball season.
The toughest games will be against Saint Louis, Tennessee, Davidson and Alabama. The team will also be playing in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. As you can see, Wichita State is taking it rather easy in its out-of-conference schedule.
Saint Louis did win the Atlantic 10 last season, though. Tennessee will be returning a bunch of talent and could compete for an SEC title and the same can be said about the Crimson Tide. Davidson usually always plays tough and the same will be the case in the upcoming season.
After the run that the Shockers went on last season, though, I want to see them play a Kansas or a Duke. I want to see them challenge themselves to show the college hoops world that they were not just a one hit wonder. I am not trying to take anything away from this program and seeing them make their run in last year’s NCAA tournament was amazing.
So, I am sure other people want to see Wichita State playing some of the best teams in college hoops as well.
The schedule could be a lot tougher to say the least, but the team will be playing some pretty solid opponents. Who knows if the Shockers can go on a deep run in March once again, but their schedule will be very manageable and they should have no problem getting to the dance.
