There are many great three-point shooters in college basketball, but is Creighton BluejaysDoug McDermott the best long-range shooter in the nation?

Well, his percentage from behind the arc is pretty impressive. McDermott managed to shoot 49 percent from the three last season. That was not the best in college basketball, but it was in the top 10. While shooting at that high of a rate, McDermott managed to make 77 threes on the year.

That was not the most threes in country, but it was still a good amount and it is important to note that McDermott is 6’8”. With that said, he is a very hard player to guard because he can basically do it all. However, he is one heck of a shooter and he could be the most accurate one in college hoops.

There are plenty of players that can make a case for being the best three-point shooter, but McDermott’s name is definitely on that list.

He will be returning for his senior year and his Bluejays will play in the Big East Conference, which is probably a lot tougher than the MVC (Creighton’s previous conference).

McDermott averaged 23.2 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game last season. He also shot 54.8 percent from the field. That may not have anything to do with three-point shooting, but it shows how good of a player McDermott is.

Still, he is easily one of the best three-point shooters in college basketball and he very well could be the best based off of his shooting percentage and how many threes he makes.
