The Xavier Musketeers will have a pretty solid non-conference schedule in the 2013-14 college basketball season. It will also play two SEC teams in the upcoming season.

Xavier will take on the Tennessee Volunteers and the Alabama Crimson Tide. There is a chance that the Musketeers will have to play the Volunteers a second time this season in the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Tennessee and Alabama are not quite on Florida‘s or Kentucky‘s level, but both teams are still pretty solid. Not to mention, both will compete in the SEC in the 2013-14 season.

The Volunteers will be returning a bunch of talent. With that said, they will be losing Trae Golden, but will also be getting back Jeronne Maymon. Tennessee finished last season with a 20-13 record.

Alabama took a big hit when Trevor Lacey decided to transfer, but luckily Trevor Releford will be back for another season. Releford led the team last year with 14.9 points per game. The Crimson Tide finished last season with a 23-13 record.

Both Alabama and Tennessee did not make the dance last season, but that is the same case with Xavier. All three will have the talent to make the NCAA tournament in the upcoming season.

Beating the Crimson Tide and Volunteers would be huge for Xavier and it would have it heading in the right direction when it comes to making the tourney in March. The Musketeers have a lot of work to do and they cannot finish with a 17-14 record once again.

Leading scorer Semaj Christon (15.2 PPG) will be back and Xavier is set to have a much better year.
