Georgia Bulldogs Will Not Be Challenged Very Much In Non-Conference Schedule
This may be a very good thing since the team did finish with an overall record of 15-17 last year. If it can actually have a winning record before SEC play begins, it may have an outside shot of making the NCAA tournament. However, outside shot really needs to be highlighted because Georgia finished last season with an SEC record of 9-9 and will be losing its best player in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
The toughest game on the out-of-conference schedule will be played against the Colorado Buffaloes. In most years this would not seem tough at all, but Colorado has made the NCAA tournament two seasons in a row now and it will have a very good team in the 2013-14 season. By good I mean the Buffs will have the talent to win the Pac-12. Arizona will be a top 10 team in college hoops, so that is saying a lot.
The Bulldogs will also play in the Charleston Classic, which could provide some tough opponents. The team will play Davidson first and we will worry about their next opponent when the time actually comes because there is no guarantee that the Bulldogs will win their first round matchup.
Other than the Charleston and the game against Colorado, Georgia will have it pretty easy. This could be a good thing, though, since the team did have an out-of-conference record of 6-7 last season. The schedule was much tougher, but it is what it is.
