The Ohio State Buckeyes and Marquette Golden Eagles were supposed to play each other last season, but that was ruined thanks to condensation on the court–game was supposed to be played outside. The two teams will meet up in the 2013-14 college basketball season (fingers crossed) and this is a matchup that I am sure people have been waiting for since last season.

Both teams made it to the Elite Eight in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Vander Blue was a star for the Golden Eagles and Deshaun Thomas was a scoring machine for the Buckeyes. Unfortunately, both are no longer playing at the college level, but this season’s matchup will still bring some buzz.

Ohio State will still likely be a top 10 team to start the season and Marquette really should not be too far behind. The Golden Eagles will be losing more talent than the Buckeyes, but they still compete in college hoops on a yearly basis.

The contest will be played on Nov. 16 and it is one that is long overdue.

Ohio State will be playing on the road in this matchup and the battle should be played between two top 25 teams. The winner of this game will still have some bragging rights and will have a solid victory on the resume.

Who knows if either team will be good enough to make the Elite Eight once again, but I am sure both teams will at least compete in their conferences.

This game will not be played outside, so it should actually take place in the 2013-14 season.
