Under-the-Radar Corey Henderson Verbally Commits to the Wichita State Shockers
For those of you obsessed, it probably feels like an eternity ago that the Wichita State Shockers were, you know, shocking their way through the NCAA Tournament. Bad pun aside, it made for a great story last March and also something that many didn’t see coming — despite Wichita State being a pretty good basketball program.
Well, good things will find its (or their, in this case) way to other good things. So it should be no surprise that the Shockers have done all kinds of swell in recruiting. You can now add another swell recruit to the mix — as Corey Henderson, a member of the 2014 recruiting class, has verbally committed to the program.
A 6-foot-3 guard, Henderson is a three-star recruit according to most recruiting service websites. He is also a native of Dallas, Texas. Other than that, though, I would be lying if I told you how great, good or decent this guy is. He is an under-the-radar type of player, who may or may not be a significant member of the Wichita State program down the road. What it does do, however, is add depth to a program that will lose four scholarship players at the end of this season.
Time will tell if Wichita State’s Final Four run was a one-year thing or if it is just the start of something more beautiful (like, maybe not being considered a mid-major anymore?).
