As I am sure you have already heard by now, the Creighton Bluejays are making the leap from the MVC to the Big East Conference in the 2013-14 college basketball season. This means the competition will be a lot tougher, but Creighton will also get a lot more attention. Regardless, the team will have a pretty easy non-conference schedule and it will not be challenged until late November.

Creighton will take on the Arizona State Sun Devils on Nov. 28. The Sun Devils will be returning Jahii Carson, who is one of the best scorers in the nation. He averaged 18.5 points per game last season. Still, the Bluejays are a much better team on paper and should have no problem against Arizona State.

I am not saying that Arizona State will not be a challenge or anything like that. Creighton is going to be a very solid team in the upcoming season and very well could win the Big East.

The Bluejays will be challenged some more in the Wooden Legacy, but they are the best team in it and really should come away as the champs. It is important to note that Marquette will also be in the field. The Golden Eagles are a very solid team and Creighton and them will go head-to-head two times during conference play. They could meet up in the Wooden Legacy, though.

Doug McDermott returning is huge, but he is not the only talented player on the team. The Bluejays managed to win 28 games last season and they can really get some national attention in the 2013-14 season since they will be playing in a big boy conference.

Regardless, the team will not have that tough of a non-conference schedule and they will not be challenged until late November.
