The preseason rankings are out and the Arizona Wildcats are ranked in the top five of the USA Today Coaches Poll–as expected.

Arizona may be losing its top two leading scorers and other talent as well, but it is still expected to be one of the best teams in college hoops. The reason for that is a very talented recruiting class coming in.

Highlighting the 2013 recruiting class is two five-star recruits. Aaron Gordon is ranked No. 4 in the class and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is ranked No. 21, according to ESPN.

It also helps that some talent will be back. Nick Johnson is the returning leading scorer. He put up 11.5 points per game last season. Johnson will not be the only talented player returning to the team, though.

Ranked ahead of the Wildcats are the Duke Blue Devils, Louisville Cardinals, Michigan State Spartans and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Arizona will have plenty of opportunities to climb up the rankings. The team will take on Michigan Dec. 14 and it might have to play Duke in the NIT Season Tip-Off.

The Wildcats were considered a No. 1 seed early on last season, but ended up being a No. 6 seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. The team made it to the Sweet 16 and ended up losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Whether the case, this will be a much different team than last year’s Wildcats. However, the expectations to win a national title will still be there and Arizona will be the favorite to win the Pac-12 to start the season.
