The Baylor Bears may have not made the NCAA tournament last season, but they still managed to win the NIT. That has to count for something, but apparently the USA Today Coaches Poll thinks otherwise. Baylor is not ranked in the top 25 and it is one of the biggest snubs.
The Bears are the next team up in line, though, as they received the 26th most points. Virginia is ranked No. 25 and has 103 points and Baylor has 102 votes. I guess it does not matter in the grand scheme of things since Baylor will have to play Colorado in the first game of the season.

The Buffaloes received the 27th most points in the Coaches Poll. Whoever wins that matchup on Nov. 8 will more than likely be ranked the following week. College hoops offers upsets on a weekly basis and there is no reason why this season will be any different. Translation: a top 25 team will more than likely lose and it will more than likely get booted out of the top 25; the winner of the Colorado vs. Baylor matchup will then enter the rankings.
Baylor is losing its leading scorer in Pierre Jackson, but Cory Jefferson, Isaiah Austin and Brady Heslip will be back (among others). Jefferson averaged 13.3 points per game and eight rebounds per game last season, Austin averaged 13 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game and Heslip averaged 8.6 points per game.
As you may or may not know, Heslip can flat out shoot. I am sure the Buffs know a thing or two about that since Heslip dropped nine threes against them in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Colorado did get revenge by beating Baylor in the Charleston Classic last season.
Still, Baylor has more than enough talent to be ranked and it is one of the biggest snubs in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
