Ole Miss Rebels Have To Have Marshall Henderson Back By the Time SEC Play Begins

Ole Miss Rebels

The Ole Miss Rebels could really use Marshall Henderson back to start the season, but they will have to have him back by the time SEC play begins.

The Rebels will have a relatively easy non-conference schedule, but will have to play teams like Kansas State and Oregon. The Wildcats will likely take a huge step back this season and I am really not sure what to expect out of the Ducks. They will be losing some players, but will be gaining enough talent to make some noise as well.

Still, Ole Miss should be a good enough team to get through the many cupcakes that it will face. If Henderson really makes the Rebels that much better, then they will win enough conference games to dance. It helps that Florida and Kentucky are both ranked in the top 10 entering the season. Beating either of those teams on the year would be huge for the Rebels.

Ole Miss will not truly be challenged in SEC play until Jan. 15. It will take on the LSU Tigers that day. So, it would be nice if the team had Henderson back by then, but who knows if that will happen.

Henderson put on a clinic last season, averaging 20.1 points per game. He also hit 138 threes on the year.

The team loses talent, so it will need its leading scorer on the court at some point. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later, but having him back by conference play will be a must. That is if the team plans on sneaking into the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
