Colorado Buffaloes Should Be Ranked In the Coaches Poll

Colorado may not be the most popular name in college basketball, but it is still more than talented enough to be ranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll entering the 2013-14 season. That is not the case, though, and there is no reason why this team is not ranked.

If Kansas had the same exact players that the Buffaloes have, it would definitely be ranked. The Jayhawks do not have to worry about not being ranked since they are No. 6 in the Coaches Poll.

Colorado has made two straight NCAA tournament appearances, which is a pretty big deal. The Buffaloes could have their best team yet and they should have no problem making a third straight tourney.

This team made the dance as a No. 10 seed last year. It loses Andre Roberson, but returns a bunch of other players. Losing Roberson definitely hurts on the defensive side of the ball and in the rebounding department, but Colorado will still be one of the best teams in the Pac-12.

Arizona, UCLA and Oregon are the only teams ranked in the conference. The Wildcats are ranked No. 5, the Ducks are ranked No. 18 and the Bruins are ranked No. 23. Arizona is picked to win the Pac-12. I am sure you could have guessed that based off of the rankings.

Colorado is very close to being ranked. It received the 27th most points in the Coaches Poll. It could easily crack the top 25 with a good start to the season. The talent is there and it should not take the Buffs too long to achieve that.
