Senior Casey Prather Is Going To Have A Huge Season For the Florida Gators

The Florida Gators played short-handed in their first game of the 2013-14 college basketball season and it definitely showed. However, Casey Prather was the best player on the court and fans can expect a huge season out of him.

Florida will definitely look a lot different once everyone is back, but Prather showed his worth against North Florida. Prather had a career-night, scoring 28 points. He also had eight rebounds.

Prather was not the most important player on the Gators last season–far from it–but he was still a key role player. Well, he is no longer a role player.

I am not sure how head coach Billy Donovan will work out the rotation once everyone is back on the team, but Prather needs to be in the starting lineup. He averaged 6.2 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game last season, but he was not expected to lead the team in scoring or anything like that.

Many players on Florida are more than capable of leading this team in scoring and Prather is one of them. He definitely stole the show against North Florida, but two other Gators also put up big numbers.

Michael Frazier II scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds and freshman Kasey Hill had 15 points and four assists.

Even with point guard Scottie Wilbekin, incoming freshman Chris Walker and the transfer players back, Prather is one of the most talented players on the court. He did not get as much hype as the two five-star recruits–Hill and Walker–or Young coming into the season, but he definitely will now.
