Andrew Wiggins. Marcus Smart. Julius Randle. All three of those players–among many others–are getting more hype than Ohio State BuckeyesAaron Craft entering the 2013-14 college basketball season. Still, Craft is one of the best players in college hoops entering the year.

Many hate him and many love him. He gives it his all every single game. He is not the most flashy player on the court and he probably is not going to lead the Buckeyes in scoring this year. So, how can he be one of the best players in college basketball?

Well, I am expecting big things out of the senior this year. He is one of the best defenders in college hoops. That is kind of hard to deny. Leading scorer Deshaun Thomas is no longer on the team and someone has to step up on the offensive side of the ball. LaQuinton Ross and Sam Thompson could both do that.

Why not Craft, though? He scored 10 points per game last season, which was the most in his career. He is also the returning leading scorer. He will more than likely score more for the simple fact that Ohio State will need him to score more. For the record, he also averaged 3.6 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game and 2.1 steals per game.

Craft is a leader on and off the court, he is a competitor and he is arguably the most important player on the Buckeyes, which is one of the best teams coming into the 2013-14 season. He is not going to put up the same numbers that Wiggins, Smart and Randle do, but he is still one of the best players in the country and he could have his best season yet.
