Oklahoma State Cowboys Should Be More Than Ready For Memphis Tigers

The Oklahoma State Cowboys started the 2013-14 college basketball season on a good note by dropping 117 points in their first game. They have two more tuneup games and then they will take on the Memphis Tigers, but the Cowboys should be more than ready for that matchup.

Although Mississippi Valley State is not the Memphis Tigers, Oklahoma State still looked great in that game. Marcus Smart is getting a bunch of hype this season, but Le’Bryan Nash and Phil Forte stole the show (combined for 43 points). I am sure Smart will step up his game when he needs to.

The Tigers have one game and then they will take on Oklahoma State. Memphis is ranked No. 13 in both major polls and the Cowboys are ranked as high as No. 8. It should be a great game as a result.

Oklahoma State should have the advantage since it has arguably the best player in college hoops. Smart had a phenomenal freshman season and it would not be a surprise if he was even better this year. Two players who scored 14 or more points per game are also back and Forte is going to get his fair share of points as well. He did score 22 points in the first contest of the season.

The Cowboys are basically the same team as they were last season, so it is not like they have zero chemistry or anything like that. They may have to shake off the rust, but that should not take three whole games to do so.

Regardless, Oklahoma State was great in its first game of the year and it should be more than ready for Memphis on Nov. 19.
